About This Role
Will is G1 ASHP trained and already fits the cylinders and pipework that heat pumps need. What Rosebourne does not have is MCS certification, so it cannot sign off a heat pump install or claim the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant for a customer. This role is the person that changes.
Where we are today - Not MCS certified. No notifiable heat pump installs - Heat pump cylinders, wet underfloor and system pipework already part of the work - Off-gas villages all round us, and the £7,500 grant sitting there for customers
What You'll Do - Heat loss surveys and system design - Air source heat pump installation and commissioning - Take the business through MCS certification with you as the competent person - Work with Will on the cylinder and wet side of each install
Requirements
- Heat pump installation experience with a recognised qualification (e.g. LCL Level 3 Award in heat pump systems, or manufacturer-accredited)
- Confident with heat loss calculations and system design
- Plumbing or heating background: NVQ Level 2 minimum
- Full UK driving licence
- Willing to be the named competent person for MCS
