What we actually do

This is not a wellness brand — it is practical plumbing, lighting, and ventilation work, applied to the specific problem of making your bathroom calmer to use in the evening. We check what you already have, fix what is not working well, and upgrade what will make a real difference.

Low-Lux Warm Lighting

IP-rated LED strips, niche lights, or dimmer circuits — so you can dial the brightness right down in the evening without standing in the dark.

Temperature Stability

Thermostatic valve checks, cartridge replacement, or full valve upgrades — so the water stays where you set it.

Quiet Extraction

Modern fans that meet building regulations at under 30 dB. Humidity sensors and overrun timers so you never need to think about them.

Safety Measures

Non-slip considerations, grab rail options, and adequate low-level lighting — because relaxation should not mean risk.

Three tiers, clear pricing

Start with a tune-up and see if it makes a difference. Or go further if you know what you want.

Tier 1: Existing Bathroom Tune-Up

£350 – £750

Get more from what you already have. We assess and adjust your current setup for calmer, quieter evening showers.

  • Thermostatic valve inspection and cartridge replacement if needed
  • Water hammer diagnosis and arrestor fitting
  • Extractor fan noise assessment and replacement recommendation
  • Low-lux warm LED night light supply and installation (IP-rated)
  • Non-slip mat recommendation and grab rail discussion
  • Flow and pressure check with adjustment

Ideal for: Bathrooms that work fine but could be calmer and quieter in the evening.

  • Warm-white IP65 LED strip or niche light installation
  • Dimmer circuit for existing bathroom downlights (where compatible)
  • Quiet extractor fan with humidity sensor and overrun timer
  • Anti-hammer arrestors and pipe securing throughout
  • Rainfall shower head upgrade (pressure permitting)
  • Practical slip-risk assessment with recommendations

Ideal for: Bathrooms with good bones but dated valves, harsh lighting, or noisy plumbing.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need smart lighting?

Not necessarily. A simple warm-white LED strip on a separate switch, or a dimmer on your existing lights, achieves the same effect as a smart system at a fraction of the cost. Smart lighting is an option in Tier 3 if you want app or voice control, but it is not required for the benefit.

Is candlelight safe in the bathroom?

The London Fire Brigade recommends against real candles near bath edges — tea lights can reach temperatures that melt plastic. We recommend IP-rated LED flameless candles or low-lux warm LED strips instead. Same warm glow, no fire risk.

Will this affect my water pressure?

A rainfall shower head requires decent pressure to work well. We check your system before recommending one. If pressure is marginal, we can discuss options including pump solutions or heads designed for lower-pressure systems. The thermostatic valve upgrades we fit maintain pressure consistency.

Do you cover my area?

We serve Andover (SP10, SP11), Marlborough (SN8), and Hungerford (RG17), plus the surrounding villages. If you are unsure whether you are in our coverage area, give us a ring on 01264 502027.

How long does each tier take?

Tier 1 is typically a half-day visit. Tier 2 is usually 1–2 days depending on the scope of electrical and plumbing work. Tier 3 is a full bathroom refurbishment and timelines depend on the design — we will give you a clear schedule before starting.

Is there scientific evidence that this works?

Dark showering itself has not been formally studied. However, the two underlying principles — warm bathing before bed and reduced evening light exposure — both have strong scientific backing. We are not making medical claims; we are making your bathroom work better for how you actually use it in the evening.

Can I just do the lighting part?

Yes. We can install low-lux warm lighting or a dimmer circuit as a standalone job. It falls within our standard service rates (from £150). Call or use the contact form to discuss.

What about ventilation — won't a quiet fan be less effective?

Modern fans like the Xpelair Simply Silent range operate at under 30 dB — quieter than a whisper — while still meeting the Building Regulations requirement of 15 litres per second extraction. Quiet does not mean weak.

Do I need to be home during the work?

For Tier 1 and most of Tier 2, yes — we need access to the water supply and electrical consumer unit. For Tier 3 refurbishments, we will discuss access arrangements as part of the project planning.

What is the 12-month guarantee?

All our work comes with a 12-month workmanship guarantee. If anything we have installed or adjusted develops a fault within 12 months, we will return and put it right at no extra cost.
